Founded and refined on the street of the South Bronx. Miyama-ryu Ju-jutsu is a martial art that utilizes the techniques and principles of classical Ju-jutsu against modern street attacks.

Miyama-Ryu Combat Ju-jutsu  is a direct descendant of classical Ju-jutsu, which is the parent art of Aikido, Judo and some styles of Karate.  The Miyama-Ryu Combat Ju-jutsu practice is base on the "Bushido Code", humility, courtesy, loyalty, honor, bravery, justice, benevolence, honesty, cooperation and respect.

A fierce man named Antonio Pereira called this method Miyama-ryu, which means the School of the Three Mountain, and he assumed the title of Shinan (The Originator).

Shinan Pereira died in 1999 and with him the era of Tremont as the center of Miyama Ryu came to an end.

Not only is Miyama Ryu Combat Jujutsu taught to civilians, but it has been used in the design of courses for United States Federal agents, taught at police and law enforcement academies across the world and is still being refined today by two   Dai-Shihan's, D'Arcy Rahming and Dr. William Duke, and the international Executive Committee lead by Shihan Robert Aviles Sr.

The Miyama-ryu Combat Jujutsu has school in  USA, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Iraq and Puerto Rico.

The Miyama-Ryu  Ju-jutsu of  Miami Dojo  is  under the direction of Shihan Omar Echavarria and a affiliated Deerfield beach Dojo under the direction of Osensei Wood.
